Masculinity and Femininity goes head on collision to have all imposed and supposed views excluded as both sexes may or can wear his designare title.

Runway Addict(R.A): Greetings Rad, what brought this idea of strongly to imbue your collection where both sexes can wear your designs?

Rad Hourani:I don’t see why do we need to divide things by gender, seasons, rules, religion, race, nationality, age etc ? I think that as a society, we’ve been extremely programmed. Even the most advanced societies are very limited in the way they define themselves. The way I do things without gender or season, it applies to everything in life. It’s about defying those limitations that are so often self imposed.

R.A: Would there be any long time inspiration that resulted what you have brought to the world? 

Rad Hourani: I’m inspired by the idea of creating something that can’t be defined by a limited category. Things that have no reference from the past. I believe the  only way you can attend to this kind of inspiration, is by observing everything around you.

R.A:  Tell us about the men’s heels.

Rad Hourani: I’ve always looked for the perfect Unisex heel and I never found it before as everywhere I looked, it was girly, gothic, 70’s, etc, and that’s why I designed mine, it has the perfect shape that I was looking for, a timeless unisex shape.

R.A: What’s the story behind your scent, Ascent?

Rad Hourani: All the scents that reminded me of my childhood has been mixed to create one scent that can transformed into a story that represent the way i feel today : Baby powder for birth, rose for love, leather for sex, musk for hope, incense for death. It’s always great to observe the past and move forward. Life timeless unisex scents is the story of ASCENT.

R.A: What sort of individual you see wearing your designs?

Rad Hourani: A Rad Hourani person is someone who does not follow a trend, people who feel ageless all the time, and looks comfortable when  they move, think, talk and dress and of cours open minded. I am most intreseted in designing for people that can see themselves similarly to the way i do.

R.A:  What are your constant reflections and ethics that you’ve hold on to this moment?

Rad Hourani: Unisex, timeless, symmetric, straight, black, slick, geometric & transformable shapes.

R.A: What does fashion mean to you?

Rad Hourani: Fashion was never my goal, i always enjoyed esthetics in general.I don’t know if i need to call myself a designer or artist or to be the “IT” thing today and nothing tomorrow. I just like a certain aesthetic that reflects myself and the way i see the world. Beauty is everywhere, yet perfection is nowhere. I’m a perfectionist and I think that fashion makes me feel that perfection can maybe one day exist. So fashion are full of illusions…

R.A: If you have the last ball of Gossamer thread in the world, what would you make out of it?

Rad Hourani: bed sheets.
